New to long distance running and want to run a marathon one day
I’m a college student who used to run track. I loved short distance running especially the 400 and 300 hurdles. I lowkey wish I would’ve ran the 800 too. Anyways, now that I’m in college, there are very few short distance race opportunities and I want to get into long distance running. I really want to push myself to my limits and see results after training hard for something. I ran one 5k with a time of 29:17 a few months ago off no training and I know for a fact I can do better. I want to run a marathon one day, but I don’t think that’s going to be for a while. How do I train to build a base/endurance and what should my weekly run schedule look like.
