Forensic OT
Hi everyone! I’m really interested in learning more about forensic OT and would love to hear from anyone who works in this setting.
What is the environment like compared to more traditional OT settings? I know it’s pretty different from hospital, outpatient, or school-based roles, so I’m curious how that impacts your day-to-day experience.
For context, I really enjoy working in mental health. I have a sociology background and experience as an RBT, so I’m comfortable in behavioral and psychosocial settings. I feel like forensic OT might align with those interests, but I’d love some real insight.
Also, can we talk pay transparency? I’ve always heard that forensic OT tends to pay lower than other settings, has that been your experience? Do you feel the compensation matches the work and environment?
Would really appreciate any honest feedback about pros, cons, safety, growth opportunities, and overall job satisfaction. Thank you!
