Kylaq AT owners - how do you handle steep and long downhill slopes?
I recently drove through hilly roads and noticed that even in manual mode, the gearbox still changes gears automatically once the RPM crosses a certain point. Because of that, I end up controlling the speed mostly with the brakes.
This made me wonder what the correct technique actually is for long descents in automatics.
* Do you rely on engine braking by staying in a lower gear?
* Is the gearbox overriding manual shifts normal in the Kylaq AT?
* What’s the best way to avoid overheating the brakes on long downhill stretches?
* Do you use short hard braking intervals instead of constantly riding the brakes?
* Any mountain driving tips specific to the Kylaq automatic?
Would love to hear both technical explanations and real-world experience from owners.
