I love Farhat Ishtiaq's work. This one was sitting in my watchlist for the longestttt time, so I finally decided to give it a shot.
And now I am regretting why I had not watched this before!!!
The obvious plus points of this drama:
The storyline and execution was top notch, I loved how they intertwined the story along with the promotion of the Kashf foundation...and also subtly incorporated legal awareness regarding child abuse cases. Even the music band part was also great, something fresh imo.
THE ACTING...my God 🙌🏻 almost everyone, Bushra Ansari, Samiya Mumtaz, AHSAN KHAN, the child actress, Farhan Saeed, etc. They were fabbb, Bushra ji and Samiya ji proved why they are the industry stalwarts! Ahsan Khan, I being a non-paki, always thought 'he is not all that', but turns out he is a crazy performer, he scared me to the core.
The music!! Each song was catchy and meaningful, OST is a masterpiece.
The only negative points would be:
The draggy pace of the second half, the editing could have been crisp.
And I am sorry Urwa was good but her acting was not up to the mark especially the singing portions😭
The caricature-ish hand movements while singing took me out.
And the guy playing the older version of Miraan's bro (turns out he's Urwa's irl bro), his acting was also not it, his dead expressions and dialogue delivery was too distracting, the child actor did a much better job imo 😭
Overall I know I am late to the party but I just loved it soo much, I had to write an elaborate review on it. Wish more such dramas were made now, Hope Zanjeerein will be just as good.
