What tech habit are you trying to quit?

trying to stop myself from checking my phone every few minutes for absolutely no reason, sometimes i unlock it, open an app, then realize i didn’t even need to check anything in the first place lol, it’s become such an automatic habit at this point also trying to cut down on having way too many tabs open because somehow i convince myself i’ll “come back to them later” and never do

what about you guys, any tech habits you’ve been trying to break lately?

What’s a free tool that feels like it should be paid?

For me, two that come to mind are ShareX and Obsidian.... ShareX is insanely useful for screenshots, screen recording, file uploads, basically a bunch of stuff packed into one app and Obsidian (this was recommended to me by a my writer friend) made organizing notes way easier for me without forcing subscriptions or cloud lock-in both feel way more polished than some paid software i’ve tried lol

What about you guys, any underrated free tools you think deserve more attention?

currently using an asus vivobook with 8gb ram (max upgrade is 12gb but i didn’t bother since it didn’t feel worth it), had it since around 2022 it still works fine for light stuff, but i can feel the limits sometimes, especially when multitasking

i’m planning to get a new device soon and wondering if 16gb is enough moving forward

for context i mostly play fps games and for work it’s pretty light, just slack, google workspace, browser tabs, nothing too heavy like video editing

don’t really want to overspend if 16gb is already enough, but also don’t want to regret it later

for those with similar usage, is 16gb still the sweet spot or should i be looking at 32gb already?

got an ipad a while back thinking i’d use it for a bunch of things, but most days it ends up being for notes, a bit of browsing, and the occasional video it’s nice to have, especially for school stuff, but i feel like i’m not really using it to its full potential i’ve tried using it for more “productive” things but i always end up going back to my laptop for actual work

just wondering how you guys use yours day to day, do you actually rely on it or is it more of a secondary device for you?

Hot take but removing sd card slots was a bad move and i’m kinda tired of pretending it wasn’t, not everyone wants to pay monthly just to keep their own photos and videos accessible...back then you could just throw in a bigger sd card and you’re good, no subscriptions, no juggling storage, no “upgrade to 256gb or else”

Now it feels like you’re being pushed into cloud storage whether you like it or not, and yeah internal storage is faster, but for most people that doesn’t even matter for everyday use, it just feels like one of those changes that benefits companies more than users

Anyone else feel this way or did you fully switch to cloud and never looked back?
