For context I am mostly a Bedroom DJ and love making mixes for myself to listen to but I have also played a few small parties/events and have received good feedback. I also play songs and mix from most EDM genres, sometimes I mix within one or similar genres or jump across genres.

When I mix I try to stay within the BPM range but I am using virtual DJ where you can lock the pitch. It also has a feature where you can double click it When mixing in a new track and it will slowly bring the pitch back to 0%.

I find myself constantly changing the pitch back to 0% subtly as I sort of believe that some of the songs sound the best in the pitch and BPM they were meant to be played in. But this also means that I am jumping all over the place with BPM. I have also noticed that some songs with even higher BPMs can sound slower and some with lower BPMs can sound faster.

I still mix it in a way that doesn't feel out of place and is subtle.

I guess my question is how important is it when playing large sets or bigger parties? Does the audience notice that much? How much does it or can it effect the energy?

Also apologies if this was poorly written, I am still learning, struggle with terminology and its quite late at night where I am from.
