Undercowl heat resistance???
Hello guys, I just finished mounting the undercowl on my bike. I got it from Aliexpress since is basically the same as the OEM one and it costs way less. The only thing I’m concerned about is the heat resistance.
Does the material resist to the collector heat?
Let me break down my logic:
OEM undercowl: made out of ABS plastic (resistant, hard, mid heat resistance)
Aliexpress undercowl: made out of nylon 66 (at least they say it’s nylon 66, super resistant, way better heat resistance)
So even if it’s not the OEM should I be worried ? I don’t want to find myself melting plastic under my ass or even starting a fire I’m a little bit scared.
They also sent me some sort of adhesive sponge with a sheet that would look like a thermal sheet. But was it only needed to protect the package or do I have to cut it and apply it inside the undercowl to protect it from the heat of the collectors?
