Has anyone who has a personal vehicle ever thought of carrying some people to town?

I use the eastern bypass route daily and I see how people are stranded waiting for matatus in the morning which seem to be already full. You'll get most people using their own vehicle going alone to town. Has someone tried carrying people and how was the experience?

Let's say, you carry two people to cbd and charge them 100 kes each, that's something. That's breakfast, you know...

By the way, I keep on seeing the same fuel gazzlers on the road daily. The SUVs, the subarus... Etc. Today I also saw my agemate driving a landrover defender. The most modern one. Where do they get money to fuel those vehicles on a daily basis?

"It's hard for a band to produce 3 step amapiano beats"

I just asked my uncle whether he listens to amapiano and he said yes. Then he added the point that such beats cannot be produced by a live band. Which actually made me think a lot.

This year I've been a bit obsessed with 3 step amapiano. Most especially late at night. I feel like it has some ambience to it. It just feels cool and african.

The only problem I have is it feels so long like those taarab songs but I understand it takes time for the beats to build up.

Just asking do you think a live band can produce an amapiano beat and sing it? Anyway I also have a good amapiano playlist for anyone interested

I find myself sleeping in the matatu regularly even when I try not to

I got a temporary job and the distances from cbd in Nairobi are crazy. The traffic jam is also something else. I get home late and I have to be prepared early. By 5:30 am, I have to be out of the house to make it in time.

The Nairobi traffic also makes me come back late. I've not really been sleeping well. This week I've constantly been experiencing fatigue and lots of headaches.

My temporary job involves being busy almost all the time. It's a high pressure job too. In most days I try so hard not to fall asleep in matatus but eventually I find myself dozing off.

You know that feeling when you think you're awake but instead you're asleep. I experience it a lot most especially when we are in a traffic jam.

Today I had the chance of coming back early. I talked to a guy whom I constantly buy chapati at and I told him of the situation. He just said, " Ukijua utalala kwa gari toa simu kwa mfuko weka ndani ya bag penye ni deep sana". " Ata huyo conductor anaweza kukuibia simu"

Then he told me, "Kulala ni normal, na dawa ya usingizi ni kulala". What do you think?

I'm not the one to complain a lot but if you want to promote kenyan music through your sub then you shouldn't be posting kenyan gossips on the sub. The mod posted something about stevo's wife, I really don't know her name.

He/she posted about her body and I'm sure every person who tried to comment and tell that mod that this isn't Facebook and he is karma farming was permanently blocked.

If we want to promote kenyan music, then this really isn't the way. Suppose r/kenya acted like this, will this sub be as great as it is?

Just right now, I was on the sofa set using virtual DJ to try and enhance my djing skills. I'm not a dj, I just do it for fun. As I was busy mixing I felt a call. You know the one that they call driving in Kiswahili, I mean a really emergency call. So I had to rush.

On trying to get down so I could walk I felt like my feet were numb. I tried moving but I had no control over them so I found myself falling with my forehead touching the carpet. The good part was that I landed on a fluffy carpet.

At that moment, I was throwing all sorts of curse words. I was a bit angry. That situation made me learn how to be patient. I had to wait on the ground till my legs became normal and afterwards is when I ran to go and relieve myself.

What's the worst thing that has ever happened to you when a part of your body became numb?

I saw this somewhere and I thought it would be helpful somewhere. I understand that sometimes it is cold but it's important to pay attention to your hygiene. I remember I was in a certain barbershop and whenever the barber talked I felt like telling him, "stfu". He had bad breath and he still shaved me badly too.

I also remember another instance when I was in those small matatus going to isinya. I think they are called 'katawesa'. Naakana sacco or something like that. There was a certain dude next to me. He had worn a suit but was smelling awful on a Monday morning. It was just bad.

My uncle told me today that that's one of the reasons he wears those expensive perfumes. You smell good and it gives you lots of confidence. Good hygiene + smelling good = confidence booster.

Well, I came to Nairobi and it happened that I got a one month job which starts on Monday. Since my parents are not in Nairobi I had to move in with my uncle. He is a bachelor in his early 30s.

Last weekend there was a girl who came over but luckily I wasn't around. I went to my friend's place so he could show me more of Nairobi. I came back Sunday at 10 pm.

This weekend there's a girl who came and found me. My uncle told me 5 minutes before she came that there's a guest who would come. I just said it's ok.

My uncle introduced us to each other. I just said "hi" and smiled. Then I went back to my laptop to watch an anime I had been following. It's called, "daemon..." I'm not really good with names.

She went to the kitchen where my uncle was and they ended up 'beating their stories'. I was deep in the anime when I had someone tap me and asked me, "Na hii miaka yako bado unawatch cartoon".

I just smiled and said, "Hii si cartoon, hii inaitwa anime. Ni vitu tofauti..." I tried explaining to her. Then she began asking me questions like where I'm from and those other "I want to know you more questions". I was just replying.

She told me to give her one side of the pods so she could also watch. The anime ended and I switched to a TV show and we watched for like an hour on the sofa set.

Then she went to where my uncle was and they continued with their stories. She said her concentration span on movies wasn't that good.

I continued minding my own business till when it became dark outside. They tried putting me in their stories. Sadly all that time she was there it was raining. So I couldn't excuse myself and give them their time.

She then left and my uncle accompanied her. Later, my uncle told me she's just a friend and they normally do business deals with her. Anyway I kind of felt a bit nervous around her because she had a nice scent and she was cute too.

I almost said, " Na uncle yangu anajua kuchagua"

It's just my opinion but licky clears jones for me. He is not even twenging or anything. Just pure kenyan stuff. He can rap in luo, english or sheng and it feels kenyan.

There was a time that I was in certain temporary work. My landlady by then was from Tanzania. I was really busy and she called. She used to call via WhatsApp. Since, I have two phones which have the same WhatsApp it used to ring on both phones.

I ignored the first call since I was in a place where I couldn't receive a call. So I typed," I'm busy I'll call you later" . You know what happened next, she called me 15 times and I ended up blocking her.

I had paid all my rent so I was wondering what my business with the landlady was and I was even rarely in the house. She kind of pissed me off.

I think one missed call is enough. I used to also have a girl who used to spam me with calls when I'm busy and it was irritating. For her, she thought that I was cheating while I was just at work. I would explain to her that and it's like it would make her more upset.

Anyway, I always call back if I'm not busy. If it's so urgent just text it. I'll see it. Funny thing is I like calls, just not when I'm busy. But, I'll also still inform you I'm busy so you can know I'll call later.
