Browser workflow for sampler/simpler patches
Hey fellow Ableton people. I always found working with sampler patches in the browser very cumbersome. Saving the device alone doesn't let you preview it in the browser. And alc files also make an extra folder. Then you have to go through lots of folders to preview alc files. Not very workflow friendly. But... I just found a cool way to do it. Maybe as Ableton attended it to be, not sure. But for anyone working with sample patches a lot, here is my new way of doing it:
When you drag an alc file to the browser a folder (project folder?) is created with the name of the clip. Here is the idea part: Rename the folder to Patches - Pads for example. And save your new pads patches in there too. The samples are stored in the samples folder. This way you have all your pads patches in one folder where you can preview them etc. And for people mainly working in the arrange view: tap to session view, hit Enter on the selected patch you want and tap again back to arrange. Happy days.
