Hey all! So I’m writing a book that is set in New Orleans. I know the Cajun dialect and accent is very specific, I also have a black main character who is originally from Haiti and has an accent.
Does anyone have any tips, do and/or don’t for any of these things? I want to be as respectful of culture as possible. Any and all help is appreciated! TIA!

Edit to add that I am white. And my Haitian main character was born in the 1700s.
