UAE greenlit crypto for government payments. Best way to actually spend USDT in Dubai without off-ramping?
Most of my clients pay me in USDT which made sense when I moved here since the UAE is supposed to be crypto friendly and all but day to day it's still annoying. Every time I need to pay for groceries, DEWA, eat out, whatever, I'm converting to AED first and losing money on fees and spread every single time.
Now that the government is actually accepting crypto for payments it feels weird that I can pay them but buying shawarma down the road still requires me to off-ramp first. What setup are you using to actually spend without the conversion?
