My wife and I found out at our 18 week check up that there was no fetal heartbeat. We were going every 2 weeks for a check up due to the IVF transfer and my wife wanting reassurance. We are constantly thinking about what could have gone wrong and played back all the visits. 1 day before our 16week check up my wife had very minimum spotting (light brown discharge) we notified our OB immediately and they told us since it was not red blood and that we had a checkup the next day just to come in on our regularly scheduled check up. At 16weeks there was a normal heart beat and everything seemed to check out. We did say to ourself he looked crunched because he seemed very curled up but did not think anything about it. After thinking everything through we both came to the conclusion that after the 12 weeks exam in which the baby was very active and moving around a ton however the movement at the 14 week and 16 week check up was non existent. The Dr even spent extra time at the 14 week visit trying to get the baby to move a bit but he was very less active then he was 2 weeks ago. I'm curious to see if anyone has experienced this before and if so did you have a healthy pregnancy? Appreciate any thoughts or stories
