Paint loss from carbon forks - removing rim brake caliper from fork.

hello,

I decided it would be a good idea to clean and grease the steering head bearings on my road bike, as it hadn't been done for a long time.

Unfortunately, in the process of removing the rim brake caliper, there was paint removed from the fork.

The loss of paint is the round section, where the caliper bolts to the fork.

I noticed that the paint there looked a bit damaged before removal, and I suspect that there's probably nothing that would have prevented the loss of paint.

The forks are carbon.

I was wondering if this is a common occurence, and whether I should do something to protect this area, or if I am ok leaving it exposed? I live in a wet climate.

The bike is a boardman x7 for 2017. It's likely nothing special, but I like it and don't plan on changing it any time soon.

Thank you.
