Wife of 5 years forced to leave the country/$998.00 fine threat
I’m hoping for some honest answers that only someone who has a lifetime of experience with immagration may be able to provide. My wife came to the US 24 years ago was denied asylum ~stayed in the country (pregnant) raised a daughter who graduated Maryland university actually in the next week or so. I met her 6 years ago and we have been married over 5 years now . We applied to immigration immediately with form i485 and after 3 1/2 years were told she was not eligible to marry a US citizen because of original asylum denial. We have had lawyers for the last year ,first trying to reopen her case denied again by an (assistant judge) . Now our lawyers are trying to file form 260 to get an interview and then we are to submit a hardship waiver . Truly my health is not good and my regular doctor and my cardiologist have already agreed to write supporting documents stating that it could be a life ending event for me even to try and visit her being 33 hours flight time to Indonesia . Our big problem now is that our attorney who was a judge (fired by the present administration) has quit or been fired from our law firm and we are not getting a response from them as to when our form 260 will be filled and by who ? I’m am afraid that we have not been told the truth at all ,just paying?$20,000 dollars when we should be waiting for the next administration because I doubt this administration is going to allow anyone back ? We were legally married ~I can’t believe my own country has allowed this to happen.Does anyone have any advice for me and my wife ? At 70 years old I may not live to see my wife again .
