Best transmission Fluid for ZF5 4x4?

I've heard Amsoil is the best choice. Would anything recommend overflowing through the shifter as well?

ZF5 Flywheel Vent?

1994 F250 Manual ZF5 Transmission, and I noticed a cutout on the inspection plate for the flywheel. I'm aware some people drive with the inspection plate removed although I don't know why you would. Regardless, I don't like it. My question is, how can I clean it out? Can I spray water up in there and then air blast it dry? And should I bondo it shut or weld it?
