I’ve been researching programs and noticed some schools don’t strictly require all the traditional prereqs. Has anyone gone through the application process without having all of them completed? Would love to hear your experience, did it affect your chances, and is it something admissions committees tend to flag?

My Discover card was set to expire this month, so they mailed a replacement. I never saw the envelope, but I just got a fraud alert for a dozen charges today (April 30). I called the fraud bureau and they confirmed the card was sent, intercepted, and activated online yesterday (April 29).
What I don't understand is the "online activation" part. They clearly have my address and full name from the mail, but what is required to activate a Discover card online? Do they need my full Social Security Number? If so, does this mean my identity is fully compromised?
Also, how would they verify a phone number for the activation if they only have the physical mail? I’m trying to figure out if this was just a quick mail theft or if they already have my personal data from a leak. What steps should I take next besides freezing the card?
