Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice/opinions because I’m confused about what’s going on with my illness and whether this sounds viral, bacterial, or something involving my eyes now.

I started getting sick around Sunday 4/26 with congestion, cough, sore throat, sinus pressure, mucus, etc. I felt pretty bad for about a week, but this past Sunday I actually started feeling like I was improving. Then Monday morning I woke up feeling sick all over again — worse congestion, coughing up green mucus/phlegm, throat hurting again, feeling feverish in the mornings, and overall exhausted.

I went to the doctor yesterday and was prescribed Augmentin for suspected sinus infection. I took my first dose last night around 9 PM. Today I woke up feeling noticeably BETTER overall, but my eyes were completely crusted shut with thick goo/crusting on my lashes. My eyes are also red and dry, but not itchy (at least not yet). This is the first time the eye symptoms have happened during this whole illness.

I’m trying to understand:
- Does this sound like a sinus infection spreading to the eyes?
- Could this just be mucus/drainage coming through my eyes overnight?
- Is it common to suddenly wake up with crusted eyes after starting antibiotics?
- Does this sound more viral or bacterial?

Other symptoms:
- Green mucus/phlegm
- Congestion worse at night/morning
- Productive cough
- Felt feverish/burning up especially mornings
- Symptoms improve a little during the day after coughing/blowing my nose
- No severe eye pain or vision changes
- Eyes feel dry/red more than itchy

I know nobody can diagnose me online, I’m just trying to figure out whether this sounds normal or if the eye symptoms are something I should worry about. Thank you!
