We live in Texas. In early 2024 we experienced a housefire that had us displaced as the house was deemed unlivable from the soot and smoke so the home insurance would rent airbnbs for us.

The fire started in my room while everyone was away from the house and the door was closed so besides soot and smoke getting out, my room and items were the only things damaged directly by the fire.

Everything in my room was trashed besides my laptop, mouse and drawing tablet as my dad had them cleaned asap by insurance.

My room is right by the laundry room, when the fire happened my door and tbe laundry door were closed. The washer and dryer were 'tested' yet the washer had some soot corrosion and came back with the agitator making concerning grinding noises when you do large loads and not being able to turn well. Small and medium loads works fine. The dryer however came back unable to use half its options.

My bathroom exhaust fan was also not replaced and sounds very weak and sometimes I would smell a kind of smokey smell when i turn it on.

The vents and stuff were cleaned up by insurance but I wonder why my exhaust fan wasn't replaced? That and why insurance didn't replace the laundry room appliances but did replace the kitchen appliances when my dad jokingly sent the adjuster a picture of a can in the pantry all puffed up from the fire.

The TV in our living room and its soundbar were not replaced despite being a straightshot from the kitchen with no wall.

Why replace only the kitchen appliances which were the furthest from my room and none of the appliances close to my room?
