Hey all,
I'm relatively new to editing.
I spent the better part of the past year coming up with a system to categorise thousands of photos I've taken over the years (ratings, sub-folders, etc), and then editing them.
It turns out that my computer had very little working memory space on it. I believe as a result of this, that Lightroom (Classic) corrupted the catalogue (which I would load from an external SSD Hardrive. I've included a pic of the message that comes up. Clicking 'Repair Catalogue does nothing).
LUCKILY, I still have all of the photos (it didn't wipe them off the hard-drive). I can still load them in new catalogues, and edit them. Unfortunately, though, I have lost all of the metadata up to this point (ratings, categorisations, edits).
It turns out that I did not have auto-save enabled, something I've only just discovered.
I am wondering- am I able to somehow revive/access the files I've previously worked on so much? Would save me many hours of work!!
As I get more and more into photography, I can appreciate that it's a series of infuriating mistakes that you promise never to repeat to yourself! Oh well!
Thanking you for your help :)
