The remote stopped working because the battery compartment corroded.
My remote stopped working because of the battery compartment. Everything else was dry and smelled brand new. It was very hard to open the remote. When I managed to open it, one of the parts wouldn’t come out. I put in a new battery and it still didn’t work. When I opened it, I saw a blue liquid. The blue liquid was only on the battery contacts. The battery wires were very thin. When I managed to separate the battery compartment from the remote, the connector tore. It is practically impossible to disassemble it without tearing the connector from the circuit board. The dilemma is that the battery compartment on my TV remote has never corroded like this before.
