I am currently overseas & have a IR pack which includes SMS. The physical SIM on my old phone got corrupted. So I got my brother in India to get a replacement SIM & converted that to an e-SIM & installed it on my phone here. I even received a message last week saying that SMS service has been activated. However, when I try to verify UPI apps (Phonepe) its unable to send the verification sms. The same issue happens when I try sending an sms to an Indian number. I even tried removing my local physical SIM & tried with just the Airel e-SIM but it still doesnt work. I am able to received OTPs without any issues though. I contacted customer service but as usual, they were pretty useless. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
