An HOA next to me, that we are not a part of, wants to put in a 5G tower right behind our house. We don't get a vote as we're not part of the HOA. Pros: better service, and money for their HOA. Cons: Fire risk (we're in a high risk area with one road in for a fire truck if there were ever an issue); health (pro-5Ger's please don't come for me, I've researched this--5g is a totally unknown entity and when it comes to my kids, I'd rather not take risks); loss of control to cell company once lease approved (they could sell it, need to put in smaller towers to boost signal b/c of 5g shorter wavelengths, they could end lease and we'd be stuck with tower); and a total lack of transparency by the HOA board trying to push this through (setting up last minute hearings, president of board doesn't even live in the neighborhood, his parents do; terms of contract, including lease amount and profit sharing not public). Am I missing anything on either side? I would really prefer for a 60ft cell tower NOT to be placed directly behind my house on top of a hill with high winds, high fire risk, and unknown health ramifications. There also hasn't been a lot of information shared as to alternative places in less residential communities.
