I wanted to share something we've been building for over 4 years now.
KNGO Germany e.V. is a small nonprofit based in Germany that supports the Khmer New Generation Organization (KNGO Cambodia) in Battambang. KNGO Cambodia was founded in 2007 and has been running a school for children from families who simply can't afford education.
Here's what we do:
- 450 students currently attend KNGO's school regularly, learning English, Khmer, and Math
- We provide monthly food packages to 45 sponsored children from the poorest families
- including rice, eggs, and basic supplies – so they can stay in school instead of working
- Kids who need bikes to get to school receive them through our sponsors
- Students take real exams, and many go on to pass national grade 12 finals
- We run health programs including eye care (16 students recently received glasses)
The number we're most proud of: only 1.45% of donations go to admin costs. Almost every cent reaches the kids directly.
We publish quarterly reports with detailed results from our work on the ground. Full transparency, no fluff.
