Productivity vs Casual

I’ve noticed that many iPad users use their devices as productivity tools for work-related tasks. However, there are also those who primarily use their iPads for leisure activities such as gaming, watching videos, movies, and series, scrolling through social media, and browsing the web.

Personally, I use my iPad as my primary iPhone, primarily for watching videos, scrolling through TikTok, checking Twitter, and emulating retro games up to the Nintendo DS (I’ve always used my iPads in this way since I was an iPad kid back in 2012 with my iPad 2). I find it uncomfortable to use my iPad for work because the iPadOS operating system is not conducive to productivity. Even though I have a Pro M4 13-inch iPad, I don’t consider it a suitable device for 100% work due to the frustrating nature of the OS.

I felt guilty because I saw people using their iPads for work, so I even got myself the Apple Pencil USB-C and the Magic Keyboard. The Apple Pencil is used casually to draw on Procreate about twice a week, and the Magic Keyboard is mostly used as a holder to watch YouTube videos. I’m sorry, but this device is top tier as a TABLET, not a computer.

In which spectrum of iPad usage do you fall?

Is there any other like me?

I love to use my iPad whether I don’t have my laptop around, is a Surface Laptop 15”.

My friends told me “you should’ve gotten a Mac, you already have an iPhone and iPad” but the thing is that I don’t like macOS, not the UI and my main purpose (after work) is gaming and not even simple games like RPG Maker XP or Florensia were compatible on macOS (these are pre 2010s games).

If I wanted a Mac I would, and literally I just use my iPad as my big iPhone at home.

Why mac people want to make everyone to use a Mac?
