Planning several week long overlanding trips this summer in the pacific northwest where the mosquitoes are always bad near rivers and lakes. Looking to build a solid bug protection setup for base camp that goes beyond just wearing long sleeves.

Current gear:

Thermacell (one unit).

Permethrin treated clothes.

Picaridin lotion.

Bug net for sleeping.

That's it. Feels like I need more especially for the cooking and hanging out at camp portion of the evening. What else is everyone running?

Trying to get my head around what payment rails actually are in 2026. The old textbook definition (ach, wire, swift, card rails) misses most of what's actually interesting now. Posting for feedback since other folks in the community were asking similar stuff.

Short version, payment rails are the underlying systems that move money between parties. The new rails that matter commercially are stablecoin settlement networks. Companies like cybrid, bvnk and bridge build the infrastructure that lets b2b payment platforms and remittance apps use usdc or usdt on chain as the cross border settlement layer. The result is cross border b2b and p2p payments settling in minutes at a fraction of the cost of swift wires.

The old rails are ach (us domestic, cheap but slow), wires (fast us domestic, slow and expensive cross border), swift (the cross border messaging layer between banks), and card networks (visa and mastercard for retailish flows). They all work, but on the cross border side they're objectively bad at their job.

One thing worth flagging, you the person trading crypto aren't the end user of any of this and These are payments platforms not crypto products. Cybrid is a good example cause its not crypto infra, its payments infra that uses a stable as a settlement tool and partners with exchanges for the fiat to usdc leg rather than running that itself. Same situation for bvnk and bridge - it gets blurred a lot in threads here..
