Good morning guys,
I have 7 months of bartending experience at my college dive bar and I've recently received a job for the summer. The job is at a new high-end restaurant in an affluent neighborhood. Like I said, the restaurant just opened up and they need all the help they need. I spoke otp with the general manager and he said having experience would be best… now, I have experience but I can still learn a thing or two obviously.
My question now is how should I set up my availability? I'm free everyday but I don't want to work like a dog but I still want to make enough money for school & vacation. Since I'm just starting out, I'm thinking of working mornings until I'm comfortable with working nights. Since I've been working at a dive bar, people don't order French 75’s or Martinis, should I be worried about this or will the bartender already there train me? Also, what should I expect from these high-end restaurants? How should I act and carry myself? I'd love to keep this job and possibly come back next summer. Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you!
