How much stronger is Beowulf than the average major demon?
I've always noticed this since the first time I played DMC3, Beowulf is noticeably tougher than your average major demon. He's able to make Dante have to catch his breath in the post fight cutscene and even lands a hit on him, sure he was one shot by Vergil but he was heavily weakened by then. He's also very salty about Spardas betrayal, and while that might be because of his personality, that might also be because he was close to Sparda in some way. In that case you definitely have to be at least decently powerful to be close to Sparda like that. This even translates into gameplay, Beowulf is the toughest boss you've faced up till that point, and the weapon is the hardest hitting one in the entire line up. The DMC5 description of Beowulf also says something along the lines of "this weapon holds limitless power", now while that might very well be an exaggeration, the things we see Vergil can do with it adds some credibility to that statement. All of this evidence very much says that Beowulf is very strong, way stronger than your average boss. It's just something interesting to think about
