I dropped my pixel 8a into my pool yesterday. I took the sim tray out and kept a blow dryer (in the cool setting) pointed in the ports to try to dry it out as best I could. I turned the screen on a few hours later and the screen kept pressing different points before flickering and dying. I removed the screen and placed the phone in a bag of rice. My replacement screen comes in tomorrow and I just wanted to know if anyone has had luck in repairing the phone like this after water damage.
Additionally, when I was removing the cable that connects the screen to the phone this bracket popped off. It does not seem like it's an electrical component or plugged into anything and I wanted to know if this piece coming off will result in my phone being unreparable by replacing the screen.
