I am currently a T38 Nurse III; however, over the past several years, my scope of work has expanded significantly beyond my formally assigned Functional Statement (FS). I have been providing national-level oversight for multiple clinical programs, which includes responsibilities such as program development, implementation, evaluation, and coordination across facilities.
Many of my current duties align more closely with the expectations outlined in a Nurse IV Position Description (PD), particularly in areas such as leadership at a systems level, program oversight, and broader organizational impact.
Given this discrepancy between my official FS and my actual responsibilities, I would like to explore whether requesting a desk audit would be an appropriate and effective step to formally evaluate my position. Specifically, I am seeking guidance on whether a desk audit could support a reclassification or upgrade of my role to better reflect the scope, complexity, and impact of my current work.
Additionally, I would appreciate any recommendations on documentation or evidence I should prepare to accurately demonstrate the alignment of my duties with Nurse IV criteria.
Thank you in advance!
