I could use a reality check on how long tasks should take.

What's up guys! I'm having a day.

I could use a second opinion to make sure I'm not being unreasonable, seeing problems that aren't there.

To make a long story short, I tasked a colleague with making new versions of some simple formed sheet metal funnels. Parts are a single lofted bend feature that just needed the minor and major diameter dimensions changed, open and print the drawing, output and nest DXFs, out to the shop.

There's a half dozen of them, I figure that's an hour's worth of work right? My mans spent 4 hours on it, over half an hour each. I'm not being unreasonable to think that's not an acceptable pace right?

If you want the tea... This is a man I've worked with for a long time. I've never concerned myself with his work. However I am transitioning to another role, adding equipment and robotics and automation to our shop. He says he wants to take over more of my old job, wants design work. But how can I give him that work if he can't do it in a timely manner? I'm not sure how to proceed.

Thanks for reading all that if you did!

Until 2 weeks ago this guy was sitting in long term storage. Now it does stuff!!

Pretty proud of how well everything is going together so far.

Everything communicates and actuates!

Just got to get my pallets in place and make sure I can pick from them, then integrate it with a weld cell!
