Off topic, but the post title requirements are a bit wack.

Anyways, I have a certified acceptance agent question. The question is, is there any rule saying that a CAA cannot verify documents of a direct family member?

My father is married to a nonresident alien and wants to file jointly this year. We are trying to determine what would be the easiest route for her to acquire her ITIN since she lives in Thailand.

I’m not sure if this is something that the embassy can help out with or not. Even if they can, she doesn’t live in Bangkok.

I’m currently studying for the EA exam and was planning on getting my CAA as well. I was thinking about just powering through the CAA certification process so I could handle her W7, if that’s allowed.

Thank you,
