Am I completely delusional considering a 10km commute 1-2 times a week after not cycling like at all for 10 years?
Context: I'm starting a 5 weeks nursing internship and biking would save me 8.5€ per day (to and fro) of commuting to my mom's instead of public transportation commute of 1.5hrs home. I'd like to do it 1-2 times a week. However I've not cycled for 10 years. The distance would be somewhat hilly but not majorly and I'd hope to do it in 45-55mins per direction. I work a convenience store job including a lot of squatting, crouching, lifting etc about 3-5 days per week and walk on a weekly average system about 7.5-8k steps daily not including walking back and forth at work. I can easily do about 11-12k steps without any issues though when it happens.
Am I completely out of my mind considering doing such commute? I know the muscles used are different so I may get quite sore but i feel anti inflammatory pain meds might help me with that enough...?
Am I crazy to even try it once there and back or could it actually be doable?
Thanks for any input on your experiences, it's very very much appreciated. (and sorry for any formatting issues, on mobile)
