For people who are aiming for Big Law from lower T14 law schools, how many applications did you send for 2L summer positions, but more importantly, what was the makeup of those applications? Did you only apply in the V20/V50/V100/AmLaw100/AmLaw200? How many "safeties" did you apply to and what determined what a safety was for you (especially for those who applied before fall grades came out)?

EDIT: Thanks for all the advice! I just got into law school and have no clue about how big law applications or rankings work (my fault for sure, I should've researched more 🥲). Everyone's advice is super helpful in shaping my understanding while I research firms!
