Holy Days of Obligation
I’m a mom to 5 children. My husband is very against my converting to anything except Protestantism. His parents are pastors (mom and dad) and have been over his church since he was little. So the ties are very strong to his Protestant church. I attend with him out of love and respect and not wanting to harm our marriage and upend my children’s routine. It has been a battle for years, especially since I stopped taking communion.
But I’m deeply devoted to being Catholic now. He refuses to allow the children to attend with me- although I take my toddlers because he knows they don’t understand.
Am I fully obligated to attend every Sunday? Or Saturday evening? Or Holy Days? How much wiggle room do I have here? I feel a lot of stress trying to make it when I’m juggling all these moving parts.
