I feel like she plays more in the background as first officer than other first officers we’ve seen like Riker was really giving out orders in tandem with Picard. She just sits at the helm usually and you see La’an and Spock talking more. And it sucks cause Una is a big deal to the franchise and it would be nice to see a woman really in sync with Pike dealing with situations.

But I think it could be maybe TOS era first officers were just less interactive in giving orders with the captain cause Spock also only really showed he was first officer when we had to take command when the captain was gone and was more of a science officer.
