Hi all, for a final project this semester in a class that examines digital cultures and new media and how the internet shapes writing, I want to focus on BookTok's influence on publishing and authors. Specifically, how BookTok has enabled authors to launch their careers, how it creates a safe online community for readers, and its influence on the general public's book consumption. I guess, really, I'm just wondering if anyone can offer any of their experience being a part of the community, some of their favorite novels they've discovered from BookTok, successful author examples, or how BookTok has shaped their reading! I want to better understand people's relationship to the community, as someone who has recently deleted TikTok but is an English major and loves to read myself. Thank you!!!
