Ted hunted down our first spike yesterday! I thought he was just bringing me a stick at first lol.

Is there a good way to determine species for a spike? Size and thickness makes me think this was from a young elk, but I was reading that spikes aren't just age-related and occasionally can occur on older, more mature individuals. I have seen both mulies and elk in this area before for what it's worth. Let me know what you think!
