Finished Freedom's Cry for the first time, and I have feelings

I played Black Flag many moons ago, as we all should, but never got the chance to play this DLC until about 2 weeks ago.

Adewale is a badass in everything he does and is now one of my favorite Assassins, but i was left feeling like I still lost.

I don't know if the intent of the Emancipation mechanic was to feel like it was almost a pointless endeavor or not, but regardless, the feeling of one person fighting against the ever-forward march of Empire and Conquest...

The act of continuing to do what is right in the face of literal insurmountable odds

Helping your fellows, even if it is ultimately futile

It was a very odd feeling to have while playing a video game- a medium where you have a direct input into the actions of the characters

But as I said, if the intent was to make everything feel both pointless and absolutely necessary, it hit the nail on the head.
