I wanted to use SimpliSafe for a vacation home that’s shared by 4 families. I only want it for the smart lock and environment sensors (water, smoke, temp, etc.), and don’t want monitoring. I’ve heard that you can’t get multiple app uses without a monitoring plan, is that true?

So when you buy a system they give a discount on the monitoring with a month free, no contract. What happens if you cancel the monitoring? Do they bill you for the equipment discounts that you got for having monitoring?
