Just sharing what helped for me, in hopes it helps someone.

When I would start to have it my partner would rub magnesium lotion starting below my calf and massage from calf up to the backside of my knee. For both legs. Going up and down along the muscles and tendons.

Mainly focusing on the really uncomfortable areas. Just below the backside of knee was always the most tender spot.

Did this nightly for a long period of time and symptoms became less frequent to none. Unless I take NyQuil.

Usually this was enough to allow me to fall asleep with the occasional second round.

Could have been plantar fasciitis instead not sure.
