Case solving RPG options

I'm looking for something that involves solving a series of smaller mysteries/cases/hunts etc. Basically 2-3 session chunks of content that can be played out and then maybe another month or two passes and we jump in for another. Even better if they make for an interconnected narrative.

My preference would be something smaller and on the lighter side in terms of complexity, i'm shying away from delta green, call of cthulhu.

Early research has me looking at... Triangle agency Bringdlewood Bay/The Between

What other things should i be checking out? Cheers

I've just wrapped up DM'ing a 4 year long campaign of 5e. It's looking like everyone's going to reroll and one of the players has put their hand up to DM so i'll be a player for the first time in a long while.

I've got a couple of mates from an older second group that are keen to play again, now i'll have a little more spare time i'm thinking of running something for them - albeit something lighter than 5e. Less looking things up, less edge cases etc. Light and fun ideally.

Systems that have caught my eye for various reasons are Shadowdark, Mausritter, Flail, Nimble and Dragonbane.

That said, i still feel like i need a pre written campaign and am little uncomfortable coming up with everything on the fly (i think Shadows Dark and Mausritter/Flail lean towards that playstyle).

That leaves Nimble and Dragonbane. Any recommendations for either? How is the pre written content that comes with each system?

I'd love to spent a few months experimenting with oneshots, smaller adventures and then maybe try and run a converted Strahd or Drakkenheim.

Keen to hear any recommendations (relating to the above systems or others) or anecdotes.

Cheers!
