What worked for me:
• ~1500 calories/day
• Starting my mornings with protein
• High protein + low GI foods
• Mostly eggs, chicken, jowar/millets, veggies, dosas, walnuts, almonds, etc.
• Cut wheat, rice, dairy & most processed foods
• Didn’t quit coffee ☕️
• Didn’t completely cut sugar either — just had it in moderation after meals if I craved it ( in form of raisins or muesli) (99% dark chocolate too)
Lifestyle changes that helped:
• 12-hour intermittent fasting (nothing extreme)
• 10–12k steps daily
• Strength training 2–3x a week / weekends
• Yoga + meditation regularly — honestly, lowering stress/cortisol is SUCH an important part of PCOS that nobody talks about enough. Yoga and meditation helped me the most with that, along with digestion, hormones, and overall mental health.
Supplements/herbs:
• Berberine
• Ayurvedic herbs
• Amla + aloe vera juice
After years of struggling and being on birth control, I quit the pills and focused on healing naturally and my body finally responded. 🤍
