Changing Name on Documents
Hello all!
I'm back again, looking for advice 😅
I'm about to sign my deed poll to change my name. I want to update pretty much everything ASAP, but I have a driving test coming up in a few months but I'm hoping to get a cancellation sooner rather than later. As such, I don't want to update my provisional license (also because I don't feel the need to explain why I'm changing my name to my instructor because he's only around until I pass the test), but I want to update my passport so I have some kind of ID in my preferred name.
When I was talking about this with my parents, they were concerned that updating my passport but not my license could cause problems, but everything I've read says that I don't need to update both at the same time.
Has anyone got any experience of this or similar that can give me some advice and clarity?
