A very very small oak (Quercus bicolor)

This is the third spring since growing this little guy as a seedling. I'm keeping him in a little wooden grow box and growing him slowly on purpose. I am trying to get tighter internodes and less scaring. The leaves are only about an inch long which for an oak is tiny. Long time before this will be ready. I was worried this spring because the leaves were really droopy but they have picked up.

Let me know what you think if this little guy.

Euonymus alatus (Burning Bush) wiring

Wiring out my burning bush. Collected this a year ago. It will need a lot of thinning but since burning bush have only one flush a year I wait until fall to prune so it can get as much energy as possible. However these branches get really really brittle as they get woody so if I want to put movement into the branches now is the time to do it.

Let me know what you think. Should I be working these differently?

Current tree

On the 4th of April I brought this pine to a workshop with Elle Nieto. I was intending to ask for next steps and the direction I should take this in because I had just repotted this from the nursery container it was in to this wooden grow box. To my surprise and concern she started plucking everything but the last years needles off. I told her that it had just been repotted and she stopped for a second, thought and said "It should be fine" and then kept plucking.

I had bought this tree from a nursey nearby at a bargain price because it was in the burn pile for trees that they could not sell the previous year.

Tree when I bought it

Last spring I did the major branch selection, removing branches based mainly on the rule of twos. I then put it back in the pot and fertilized the heck out of it last year.

After Branch selection and making some crazy jinn

Nervous that we had done too much work recently, I kept this tree in the shade and out of wind for 3 weeks, then slowly began to put it in the sun again. It is now sitting in full sun and it looks to be doing ok!

Let me know what you think of the progression and how I can improve the tree from here (I am really looking to promote back budding if I can as I think it is a bit long and lanky)
