Hi everyone. My fiancé cooks almost nightly and enjoys quality cutlery. I’m a knife aficionado but my understanding of culinary knives is zero. My fiancé has been expressing interest in the past year on purchasing a higher end chefs knife and I’d like to purchase one for her.

I’m looking for brands and recommendations on what to purchase her as a gift. My limited research says a chef knife and a pairing knife covers the majority of scenarios. Seems like Miyabi is recommended? I’ve also been reading that Hinoura makes great general purpose Chef knives?
