Sorry for the formatting, typing on my phone, also English is not my primary language.
I started the ordering process (lab gems, ordered online) for my engagement ring. I had decided on everything I wanted (PT950, black 4mm moissanite and 2.5mm side moissy white, low profile setting). I received a quotation for it but right before validating the design (no CAD design yet, they will do it after I give them the green light), I am having second thoughts.
For context, I am planning on wearing this ring regularly (maybe not everyday but often enough) and I am not getting a gold band or anything for the actual marriage so this will be the only ring I'll be getting. Also my fingers are very long and slander: the finger I'll be wearing it on is like 1.5cm large (don't have the perimeter size yet, waiting for a sizing ruler to check exactly) for almost 9cm long.
The issue: I am having doubts about the paved stones. I am afraid they make the ring look too cluttered and heavy and I will quickly get bored of it (in particular, I'm afraid I'll quickly find this design old).
I had a sketch I sent to the designer along with the here under AI-generated image. I now have generated the same ring without the pavée to see what it looks like but I'm not convinced either. The larger prongs look too heavy and bland without the pavée but I think it will be difficult to make them smaller to match the thin prongs, as the side stones are relying on them.
Any advice or opinion ?
