The VRA Ruling Might Have Handed Republicans a Weapon to Attempt a Jan. 6-style Midterm Coup

The VRA Ruling Might Have Handed Republicans a Weapon to Attempt a Jan. 6-style Midterm Coup

Good read from Andy Craig over at The UnPopulist discussing how Callis could have open the possibility of Republicans using it throw out the election results of a good chunk hypothetical House Dem majority come January so Republicans maintain control of the house.

It's shockingly pretty easy to do and there may not be any Mike Pence's around to put the country before their party anymore.

Jim Acosta and Scott MacFarlane discussed this last week as well on a Substack Live together. MacFarlane said if Republicans tried to pull off said gambit it would likely be blocked in the courts after a long, drawn out legal battle and that's assuming SCOTUS doesn't agree to throw out the votes of millions of Americans.

A lot of good tea in this Politico article about Republicans working overtime to flip John Fetterman over to their side, especially if he gets to determine who controls the Senate after November. Trump has personally gotten involved telling Sean Hannity to communicate to Fetterman that if he changes parties he'll, "[have] more money than he ever dreamed of, and he’s gonna win big."

Fetterman is also spending a lot of time hanging out with Republican Senators these days.
