My family recently reserved a VRBO property but then had to cancel. In the past, the payments for rentals were charged to a credit card on a scheduled payment basis and I assumed that VRBO took the credit card payments and then VRBO paid the Hosts.

Our experience:

When cancelled (in a timely manner as required), it was really a struggle to get a refund because VRBO had given the credit card information directly to the host. It made it so the host had to generate the refund instead of VRBO. It was difficult and awkward.

Has anyone else had this problem? No one wants their credit card information passed around so freely. Please be aware.
