Anyone else overwhelmed by the Praxis 5001 study guide? What actually worked for me
Tried to use the Praxis 5001 study guide like a textbook at first… didn’t work at all with a full-time schedule.
What helped instead:
- Took a practice test early
- Focused only on what I kept getting wrong
- Used the study guide as a targeted review tool, not cover-to-cover
- Reviewed wrong answers more than anything else
For math, I had to relearn basics. I came across Study.com and used it a bit for that, along with YouTube and ETS materials. Mixing resources worked better than relying on one.
I felt like I was failing the whole time, but I still passed. For me, Short, focused study is better than trying to do everything.
