NCL Luna Review

Just got off the Luna and had an amazing time. Easily a 10/10 cruise. This was my 7th cruise with NCL but my first time on a Prima class ship. The ship is beautiful and I really loved the modern design. I do agree with some of the common feedback though. A lot of the venues feel pretty small, and the buffet layout is confusing. I honestly have no idea why they made it so compact.

I had a balcony room and thought it was spacious. The shower was great too, especially the water pressure. My only issue was that the room felt way too warm at first, but after mentioning it to my room steward it seemed to cool down.

The food was a huge surprise in the best way. I was on the Bliss last year and thought the food was pretty average, so I wasn’t expecting much. But everything on Luna was really solid. My favorites were Sukhothai and the Indian food at Indulge.

I also got Vibe for this sailing and totally think it’s worth it. Since Vibe and the main pool deck are both on deck 17, it was super easy to go back and forth between the two. The lounge chairs are way more comfortable, and it was nice not having to compete for good spots by the pool. Having the same bar staff all week was also a nice touch since they got to know your drink order pretty quickly. I’d definitely book Vibe again.

Entertainment was solid too. The Not So Newlywed Game was a lot of fun, and the cruise director did a great job hosting it. I’m not really a musical person, so I skipped Elton and Hiko, but I heard really good things about both. I did go to Lunatique and thought it was a fun show. Personally, I don’t think it was worth the extra $40, but I still enjoyed it.

For excursions, I highly recommend Jost Van Dyke if you’re stopping in Tortola, and the Vibe Beach Club at Great Stirrup Cay was also a great add on.

Overall, Luna is officially my new favorite NCL ship and has taken the top spot from Encore. This was also my boyfriend’s first cruise, and now he’s completely hooked. We already booked Luna again for next year to Bermuda.
